Business Goes Local exists for one reason: the person sitting at their kitchen table trying to decide whether to finally start a business deserves better than a generic "50 business ideas" listicle with no real numbers behind it.
We built the Local Business Idea Matcher to combine two things that rarely show up together online — a large, honestly researched database of local business models with real startup cost and margin ranges, and a simple tool that matches those models to your actual budget, space, and free time.
What we believe
Local businesses are the backbone of nearly every town's economy. We believe more people would start one if the early research phase weren't so scattered across dozens of contradictory blog posts. So we did the research once, put it in one place, and made it free.
